The Legal Aid Society joined Univision 41 at an event on Staten Island this week to connect people seeking answers and legal assistance. Hosted by La Colmena, a community-based organization working to empower day laborers, domestic workers, and other low-wage immigrant workers, people came voicing their concerns on issues such as disability benefits, housing, immigration, and local policing.

Our team, Marlene Vasquez, Valeria Villa and Carlo Concha-zea, welcomed the opportunity to help. Taking Root Justice, Mexican Consulate, Latino Justice, and the NYC Fire Department also joined in the community event.
