The Legal Aid Society believes that all New Yorkers deserve the right to equal justice. As a result, we’re committed to making our website an accessible and inclusive experience for every user who visits it.
To make this a reality, we recently conducted an accessibility audit which compiled live user test results and best practices from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA.
We engaged an expert accessibility consultant, Accessible360, to conduct this audit and provide recommendations to make our website’s content, design, and functionality more accessible. Their extensive audit resulted in the following significant improvements to the accessibility of our website experience:
With these and other changes in place, we believe The Legal Aid Society’s website has become a friendlier place for all of our users.
We are always learning and growing to be more inclusive of our website users. We continue to seek solutions that will bring an even greater level of accessibility to all of our website users. If you have ideas on how to improve the accessibility of our site, or encounter difficulty using or accessing elements of the site please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
