Congratulations to Susan Horwitz, Supervising Attorney of the Education Law Project at The Legal Aid Society, who was recently named to City & State’s 2021 Responsible 100 list.

The list is part of City & State’s 8th annual Corporate Social Responsibility awards and represents New York’s most outstanding citizens who are setting standards of excellence, dedication, and leadership in improving their communities and making transformative change.

“My views on social responsibility fueled my decision to spend my entire career working in legal services,” said Horwitz. “The Legal Aid Society’s mission is to fight for equal justice for all New Yorkers, which is an apt way of describing just what social responsibility means.”

“Our clients face immense barriers to justice and equity due to the challenges created by poverty, racism, and historic marginalization,” she continued. “Every day, my team works to destroy those barriers and level the playing field.”
