The NLP Winter Benefit is the largest fundraising event of the New Leadership Program (NLP) calendar year. Each year proceeds from the Benefit support The Legal Aid Society’s underfunded units and projects and their critical work providing free legal services and tools to more than tens of thousands of low-income children and adults.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s NLP Winter Benefit was held virtually. The event welcomed guests from area law firms, businesses, law schools, as well as friends and partners of The Legal Aid Society.
Supporters and attendees had the opportunity to receive an update from members of The Legal Aid Society’s leadership team.
A recording of the evening’s live stream is available below.
The Legal Aid Society and New Leadership Program were pleased to welcome Alexander Boyce, an acclaimed magician, who served as the evening’s entertainment. Watch a recording of the virtual event below.
When it comes to magic, Alexander Boyce is a contradiction. He’s experienced yet young, old school but hip, mischievous yet authentic. From appearances at The Magic Castle in Hollywood to the long-running hit Speakeasy Magick at The McKittrick Hotel in NYC, Boyce leaves audiences with an astonished smile.
The Legal Aid Society was proud to partner with BigNightIn Entertainment to bring Alexander to this year’s event. BigNightIn Entertainment is a virtual booking platform for private, at-home, curated events over any common video calling software. BNI started as a platform to provide opportunities for local performers who were hit hard during the COVID-19 lockdown. Following its launch in May of 2020, BNI now features an eclectic array of International Artists from the worlds of Magic, Music, Comedy, and Trivia. In addition to connecting diverse audiences with savvy options for live entertainment, BigNightIn has also partnered with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids by donating a portion of each booking to their COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund which provides critical funds for those affected in the arts community.
