The Legal Aid Society and prisoner’s rights advocates throughout the city criticized a new proposal by the de Blasio administration that purports to eradicate solitary confinement at local jails.
The Board of Corrections has proposed “replacing” solitary confinement with a three-level model called a Risk Management Accountability System starting on November 1, 2021, as reported by US News & World Report.
