Eugena Oh Joins LAS as Chief of Staff

The Legal Aid Society is pleased to welcome Eugena Oh as its first-ever Chief of Staff. She will support the leadership team and the organization in realizing its mission of justice in every borough, ensuring that no New Yorker is denied the right to equal justice.

Eugena believes deeply in racial justice and equity and has devoted her career to extending opportunity to historically marginalized communities. Prior to joining Legal Aid, Oh served as founding New York Regional Director at The Asian American Foundation, a national organization dedicated to building a safer, more inclusive future for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, where she was responsible for developing a place-based local strategy, distributing over $5 million to 35 nonprofit organizations, and creating an online AAPI Hate Tracker to track and develop insights on New Yorkers experiences of anti-Asian hate and violence.

Previously, Eugena served as President & CEO of the “I Have A Dream” Foundation, a national nonprofit empowering youth to achieve their dreams through education and mentorship. Eugena continues to serve on the Board of Directors at “I Have A Dream”. She has also worked in fundraising, programmatic, and operational capacities at Rock The Vote, Teach For America, Washington State Court Appointed Special Advocates, amongst other nonprofit organizations, and was a litigation associate at Pepper Hamilton LLP (now Troutman Pepper).

Eugena is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, and Columbia Business School’s Senior Leaders in Nonprofit Executive program. ‍
