The Legal Aid Society slammed Mayor Bill de Blasio for capitulating to some Upper West Side NIMBYists by deciding to uproot hundreds of homeless New Yorkers currently residing at the Lucerne Hotel, reports ABC7.

Legal Aid joined multiple actions over the weekend to stand in solidarity with the Lucerne men and dozens of supports from the Upper West Side community.

Mayor Bill de Blasio did, however, fortunately abandon his plan to transfers residents of the Harmonia Shelter, Flatlands Shelter, and LIC Plaza Hotel to other facilities. Legal Aid will continue to monitor the situation.
