More Supreme Court Victories

Legal Aid was victorious in three cases before the U.S. Supreme Court: Bifulco v. United States, landmark Fourth Amendment case Payton v. New York (445 U.S. 573, reargued and decided 1980) and Riddick v. New York (441 U.S. 930, 1979). The Supreme Court considered both cases together and ultimately held that the Fourth Amendment prohibits the police from making warrantless and nonconsensual entry into a suspect’s home in order to make a routine felony arrest.
