The Legal Aid Society’s Gabriela Torres-Lorenzotti joined Univision to discuss the barriers that people experiencing homelessness face when trying to access shelter.

The process has become more cumbersome during the pandemic, as obtaining documents and necessary paperwork is difficult while many offices remain physically closed because of COVID-19. Meanwhile, local authorities indicate that they are seeing a historic reduction in applications due to the moratorium on evictions.
