Leave a Legacy of Justice

Since 1876, The Legal Aid Society, with help from our supporters, has fought to ensure that every New Yorker, regardless of poverty, can access justice, impacting the lives of millions of people.

We can’t know what the future will look like in NYC, but we do know that The Legal Aid Society will be needed, and we will be there, ready to provide low-income New Yorkers with free, quality legal services. You can be a part of that future by leaving a legacy gift today.

Plan Your Legacy

You have many options when considering a legacy gift to The Legal Aid Society. Two of the most common are listed below:

Will or Trust

To include Legal Aid in your will or living trust, we suggest the following language:

[the sum of $______ or _____% of my estate or residuary estate] to be used for its general purposes.”

Beneficiary Designation: IRA or Retirement Accounts

To include The Legal Aid Society as a beneficiary of your retirement, IRA or life insurance policy follow these 3 easy steps:

  • Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank, or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
