As a member of the LGBTQ+ community in New York, you have certain rights and protections under the law. Our LGBTQ+ Law and Policy Unit fights to protect and advance these rights across all of Legal Aid’s practice areas, ranging from accessing affirming healthcare, to supporting LGBTQ+ youth in the foster care system and LGBTQ+ people who are incarcerated.
