Special Litigation Unit Wins 24-Hour Standard from Arrest to Arraignment

The Criminal Defense Division’s Special Litigation Unit won a tremendous victory in Roundtree v. Brown, where attorney Michelle Maxian challenged the protracted delays a newly arrested person experienced prior to arraignment. This landmark case brought about significant improvements to the criminal legal system by establishing a 24-hour standard for arrest to arraignment.
