LAS Decries Trump Decision to Deploy BORTAC in Sanctuary Cities

The Legal Aid Society decried the Trump Administration’s decision to deploy special tactical units, known as BORTAC, to sanctuary cities across the nation, as reported by El Diario.

“The Trump Administration’s decision to deploy BORTAC in sanctuary cities across cross the nation does nothing but jeopardize public safety and further terrorizes immigrant communities,” said Hasan Shafiqullah, Attorney-in-Charge of the Immigration Law Unit.

“Less than two weeks after ICE agents shot an unarmed young man in the face, this move is appalling. We will fervently defend our clients and all immigrant New Yorkers against this further criminalization of immigrants,” he continued.
