Our Juvenile Rights Practice celebrated its 50th anniversary of providing legal representation to children in the Family Court of New York. Founded in 1962 concurrently with the Family Court by Charles Schinitsky—a Legal Aid lawyer who was performing a study for the New York City Bar association—our Juvenile Rights Practice was the first of its kind in the nation to provide legal representation for children.
