Maria Melchor is changing the legal landscape of New York City. As a Paralegal Case Handler in our Civil Law Reform Unit, she is part of a team that protects and expands the civil rights of vulnerable New Yorkers.

Christine Bella is pushing to make a better justice system for children in need. As a staff attorney in our Juvenile Rights Practice’s Special Litigation and Law Reform Unit (SLLRU), she is taking on the systemic issues that young New Yorkers are facing.

Lisa Brown gives our staff the tools they need to defend our clients. As a Digital Forensics Analyst, she works on cases involving electronic devices, acquiring information from cellphones, computers, and even surveillance cameras.

Elizabeth Rodriguez is keeping her community strong. As a Paralegal in our Juvenile Rights Practice's Bronx office, she supports our attorneys and gives a voice to the children we serve.

Tim Rountree has dedicated his professional life to The Legal Aid Society. After more than three decades working within our Criminal Defense Practice, he now oversees all of the CDP staff at our Queens office, managing a large professional staff of attorneys, social workers, paralegals, and support staff.

Elizabeth (Liz) Rieser-Murphy leads our recently launched in-house federal immigrant youth litigation team. She represents unaccompanied children, like her clients Juan and his sister, who fled their home country in the Northern Triangle after years of horrific abuse at the hands of their parents.
