• While we have no final word yet, as of now, if the federal shutdown continues past October 31, November SNAP benefits will NOT be issued.
• SNAP benefits already on an EBT card CAN be spent in November. There is no truth to the rumor that people are not allowed to spend the SNAP benefits that are already on their card, even after November 1.

It depends on when the Trump administration makes the funds for SNAP available.  Regardless of how SNAP is resumed - whether upon the end of the shutdown or federal SNAP funding being provided (which could be either before or after November 1) - it will take a few days to issue November benefits.  There are reports of notations on accounts that indicate SNAP benefits for November, but we don’t know if the benefits will be available to spend.
