If you are submitting a paper application by mail, you may pay fees using USCIS Form G-1450 (Authorization for Credit Card Transactions) or USCIS Form G-1650 (Authorization for ACH Bank Transactions).

USCIS no longer accepts personal checks, business checks, certified checks, or money orders unless you qualify for an exemption.

Exemptions are only granted for the following reasons:

• You do not have access to banking services or electronic payment systems, or
• Electronic disbursement would cause you undue hardship, as contemplated in federal regulations.

To request an exemption, you must submit USCIS Form G-1651.

When filing an application online through your USCIS account, you may pay using a credit card or ACH (bank) transfer. You will need your A-Number and, in some cases, your application’s Receipt Number.

If you need to pay a fee for an application with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court or EOIR):

• You must pay the required fee before submitting your application.
• You will need your A# to make the payment to the EOIR Payment Portal.

Always save all receipts as proof of payment.

USCIS now requires you to pay an annual fee of $100 for every year your asylum application is pending.

• USCIS will send you a notice payment is due.
• You must pay within 30 days.
• You must have your A-Number and Receipt Number to make this payment

In some situations, you may qualify for a fee waiver for an application. However, many immigration fees cannot be waived. The USCIS website has information about which applications fees may be waived.
